What is a Tarpestry you ask?

Tarp + Tapestry = Tarpestry

Tarpestry /tärpəstrē/ : a weather-resistant picnic blanket/tarp that puts a buffer between you and the elements, with style. Born in Colorado. Built in the Blue Ridge.

It’s a blanket, it’s a tarp—it’s both!

Spending time outdoors is a lot more enjoyable when you’re not thinking about your wet butt. Tarpestry camping tarps provide a barrier between your body and moisture, dirt, sand, itchy plants, and insects. Because you deserve to experience nature in a way that is relaxing and refreshing.

Decorative Tarps for Versatile Comfort: Use as Outdoor Blankets, Mats and Sun Shades

The unique and one-of-a-kind Tarpestry combines the functions of a tarp and the beauty, design and softness offered by the fabric of a tapestry. The Tarpestry is a soft and durable weather-resistant picnic blanket that puts a layer between you and the elements, with style.

The base fabric of each Tarpestry is a urethane-coated and heavy duty polyester. This provides a buffer from the occasional unpleasantries, giving water repellency and UV protection. The upper fabric varies by style, ranging from 100% cotton to water-repellent polyester. There are four grommet rings included, one on each corner. Hang the Tarpestry up for privacy or sun/rain/wind protection and stake the Tarpestry down in the grass or sand when windy. Tarpestry is perfect for picnics, camping, beach trips, outdoor concerts, sports and so much more.

FEATURES:

BASE:

• Water repellent/UV resistant polyester (charcoal)

• Polyester border (black)

CARE GUIDE:

• Cleaning. Treat the Tarpestry like a tarp! Shake it out when it’s dirty, rinse it off with a hose when it’s really dirty.  Spot clean with mild soap. Hang to dry. Harsh detergent and the agitation of the machine wash will eventually break down the inner coating on the Tarpestry. You won’t see this but you may notice a decrease in water-repellency. If there is a noticeable difference in functionality, re-coat the Tarpestry with spray for waterproofing outdoor gear.

• Sun exposure. Tarpestrys have UV treated fabrics – the colors for these styles will last the longest. These two styles are what you want if you plan to have your Tarpestry outside 24/7.

• Water. The Tarpestry is not waterproof, it is highly water-repellent. Ergo, it will repel the water to a point. Lay your Tarpestry down on damp grass and you will stay high and dry. If you lay it down in a puddle, it will eventually saturate and you will have a soggy bottom. The Tarpestry is not a float. If you use your Tarpestry for rain protection, hang it at an angle so that the water can bead up and roll down. If you allow the water to pool, it will eventually saturate. And for the love of Pete have the water-repellent base fabric facing the rain.
